Architecture | Habitat for Humanities

In the month of June and July 2011, I volunteered at the Habitat for Humanities in Buffalo to build affordable houses for residents. We began at the foundation of the house and built the platform of girders and floor joists then the wall studs and roof rafters. The sheathing material and roofing shingles were added on last. We worked in groups and it was my first time to build a whole house for a family. The experience was great and I learned how to transfer the technical and construction drawings into building the house.
